Thanks for persisting with the research @yvonnetsecrepaldi.bsky.social and I recognise the long fermentation period. Some papers just need a bit more time to get themselves where they need to be.
Thinking that @bogdanahuma.bsky.social might also be interested in reading this too 💬🫷🧑

Delighted to share that my #resistance paper is out — with much resistance along the way 😅

The data originates from my PhD. So from ideation to data collection, and publication it took…13 years! I will be faster next time 🤞

Thanks to my mentor KK Luke #emca

Calling #EMCA researchers interested in eating

I mean, those who research eating practices, not just those of us who eat.
profsalwiggins.bsky.social
If you conduct video-based, interactional analysis (think CA, DP, EMCA, linguistic anthropology) on eating in social interaction, then EatSiN might be for you. Contact me for more details!

Eating together: a family at dinner, a nurse helping a patient swallow, a teacher supervising children, a guest appreciating a high-end tasting menu...

It's all surrounded by, and regulated by, talk.

Had the privilege of hosting a workshop last week with some stellar researchers in the field of interactional approaches to eating.

We're establishing a new research network...if it involves eating within social interaction, we're in!

Watch this space...
Researchers sitting on steps at the back of a large house, smiling in the sunshine for a group photo. The interior of a stately house, set out with tables and chairs in preparation for a workshop.
