It’s so nice to see Google Maps recommend people try public transit! An excellent detail of this is mentioning that no transfers are needed, which can be a significant mental hurdle for those unfamiliar with transit.

Across the province, ‘cyclists dismount’ signs have metastasized as engineers rush to absolve themselves of liability for the sub-standard cycling facilities they design, writes Ruofan Wang.

Dear engineers: stop making cyclists dismount - Better Columbia
In far too many places across the province, engineers continue to rely on the same old ineffective tricks to paper over their own inadequate designs.

I’m at the TTC board advocating for platform edge doors. Cities around the world already have them. Toronto has a responsibility to prevent tragedies. We also know that trespassing onto the tracks contributes to the delays riders experience and makes the TTC less reliable.

60% design renders for WELRT thanks to @swanboatsteve.bsky.social. More details on his blog.

I'm really excited to see the Port Lands urban design come together! Let's hope this project gets funded soon otherwise we repeat the past mistakes of Liberty Village and Humber Bay Shores.

The TTC has selected a new CEO, Mandeep Lali. Hoping his experience with the NY Subway and London Underground can help us with our aging infrastructure on the subway and streetcar. 🙏 www.thestar.com/news/gta/ttc...
TTC chooses new CEO, nearly a year after Rick Leary’s resignation: sources
Mandeep Lali, with experience working for New York and London’s transit agencies, has been picked by the chair of the TTC board to take over as the new head of Toronto’s beleaguered transit agency.

Todays’s budget will include the removal of the bike lanes on Queen’s Park Crescent.

Ford’s own documents say tearing up bike lanes in Toronto won’t reduce congestion.

At a time when U.S. tariffs threaten jobs and the housing crisis is exploding, this is Ford's priority?

There’s so many Line 1 shuttle busses running it has created a traffic jam of busses, most of them aren’t even half full. Can’t help but think less busses would actually provide better service here.

Doug Ford’s anti-bike lane Bill 212 was always bad policy, but now also seems like bad politics. PCs handily lost Etobicoke-Lakeshore last night, home of the “controversial” Bloor West lanes. And PC vote share in bordering Etobicoke Centre was basically flat from 2022. What was the point?

Canada, Ontario and Toronto announced nearly $1 billion dollars to accelerate housing projects in Toronto's Port Lands, but we need to secure funding and accelerate construction of the Waterfront East LRT while building homes.

Often when I travel abroad I can’t help but feel that Toronto is a world class city lacking world class public spaces. That said, Miami Beach is gorgeous, huge fan of what they’re doing here. Really this path is only missing a separated bike path.

AMAZING NEWS! The feds finally announced they will fund Line 2 replacement trains!

Thank you to the thousands of hours of tireless work that transit advocates at orgs like @ttcriders.bsky.social &
everyone that called MPs to fund transit.

These things don't just happen. A thread on advocacy. (1/6)
TTC gets federal money to buy new subway cars for aging Line 2
New subway cars are urgently needed for TTC’s Line 2 as they will be at the end of their 30-year service life in 2026.

When asked about where we are now that Bill 212 has passed,
Olivia Chow completely ignores any opportunity to advocate for safe, protected bike lanes on Bloor. Hopefully, she is fighting for her constituents in private, because she definitely isn't doing it publicly.

Ontario’s Bill 212 keeps getting worse and worse.
"Bans people from taking the Government to court for its decision to remove bike lanes, including any individuals who are injured or killed due to a collision between a bike and a vehicle."

Very normal stuff from a government confident that its decision won't harm anyone.
