Vibes are bleak. Try to take a deep breath, and then find something (small or big) that you can do to help someone who needs it

Hell yeah, brother
There is still time to get the perfect gift for everyone on your list: the complete seaQuest DSV on blu-ray. Available at Menards (but not necessarily your local Menards).

Dear planetarium show writers: if your narrator can say "Huygens", they can also say "Churyumov-Gerasimenko." Stop it with your Comet 67P cowardice!!

I really, really want to see @plutokiller.com use this method for his Solstice tree lighting. 🔥🕯️

“fans being turned off by a new show wearing their old show's clothes”

SAY 👏🏽 IT 👏🏽 LOUDER 👏🏽
Season 3 is good! I understand fans being turned of by a new show wearing their old show's clothes, but on its own merits it is good. And it's like jumping 15 years ahead in television trends in structure and theme overnight.
@wskrs.bsky.social Finally caught up and wow I forgot just how many great episodes there are in season 3. Like I don't quite like the darker tone but I like that they finally have a bad guy that isn't gone by the end of the episode, I like the serialisation.

Oh, the seaQuest timeline is abso-fucking-lutely a better timeline than *gestures broadly*
For beneath the surface, as least there's no Eugenics War around the corner
If someone told me we weren't on the Star Trek future timeline, but we were on the seaQuest future timeline, I'd take it.

I do think they do a good job with the fractures in our Big Happy Bridge Crew family--they are both realistic in light of having an entirely new captain, and also good consequences of story decisions that are less well done:
This week is all about relationships aboard the seaQuest. The new direction has shaken up how our cast sees each other, new positions lead to flexing privilege, and the crew and Hudson have no idea how to work with each other. Fertile ground for drama: rss.com/podcasts/wsk...

I will try my hardest to be objective this time through. It’s gonna be hard for me. I will probably die mad about losing my beloved Ortiz. (esp. with the hindsight that Ed Kerr wanted out!!!)
New episode and new SEASON! It's been ten years since seaQuest disappeared to fight the space war, and the oceans have changed. It's a new tone, a new style, and a new situation for those who return; all delivered by the gravel voice of the legendary Michael Ironside. rss.com/podcasts/wsk...

I made myself rewatch "Splashdown" for completeness, but hell YEAH, brother to Grant disliking it so hard. (I admit that a good bit of my hatred--beyond not liking aliens in my sQ--is remembered trauma from 95 when this aired and I thought my beloved show was truly over and ending this badly.)

I am realizing that @wskrs.bsky.social must not have watched Buffy, because we’ve got “Wolfman!” and Seth Green being attacked by wolves in IT, but no mention of Oz being a werewolf.
