Enforcing state laws against kidnapping, etc., is already entirely in their lane. They don’t need extra permission. They just need to be honest and thorough instead of presumptuous and deferential.

They don’t need to. State laws already do that. It’s just a matter of deprioritizing collegiality. Bc the truth is they do not know which ICE/CBP/ABCDEFG are kidnapping until they detain and investigate. What appears to be kidnapping might be legal and they should absolutely find out, every time.

Lots of ambiguity here. Plenty of good reasons to do it in other cases though. Lots of kidnappers and assaulters out there need some new bracelets.

I’m saying, I doubt a dispatcher said that unless the caller said it was ICE/CBP/etc., which is something they don’t actually know and shouldn’t assume/say. This is how to do it: bsky.app/profile/prot...
When you see a kidnapping in progress, report it, like this:
911: What’s your emergency?
You: It looks like somebody is being kidnapped
911: What’s is your location?
You: [location]
911: Are you in danger?
You: I don’t think so
911: What’s your emergency?

That’s not something a dispatcher should be telling anyone. Their job is to take the call and send the units, let officers make that determination.
