The love to which #LoveOneAnother points us has nothing to do with warm feelings, desire, puppy kisses, passion.
It is treating another on the basis of the other's need. It is seeking their very best, even when that has a price tag.

Fellow clergy sent me down a rabbit hole, asking in what way I could love Trump.
It has nothing to do with his actions, attitudes, words, or character. Love takes me toward pity over the deep emptiness he does not know how to satisfy.

Those who can justify zip-tieing toddlers under the guise of targeting "the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens in Chicago" can as easily justify concentration camps, gulags, internment camps, and leading people into ovens or cyanide showers.

I’m horrified by Trump’s order to send 300 National Guard troops to Chicago. We’re only nine months into a four year term and already the president is trying to invade an American city. If you’re in the Guard, you can and should refuse these orders.
