I'm still quite worried about the long term impact of these pauses, even if there will be funds afterwards. No funds allocated to research-led projects in 2026 means lost jobs, lost knowledge. You can't just pause and expect to restart from the same place.

Agreed. I also find that suggesting we are only concerned about impacts to our personal careers/projects - "The fact that you are so passionate about your specific endeavours"- quite astounding. We are concerned about the long term effect this will have across the sector not just ourselves.
