And this is why the military needed a reminder to not follow illegal orders. Admirals should know better. Junior enlisted may not, but someone with that extensive leadership experience chose to willingly participate. His rank is where it should have stopped. Onus shouldn't be on the rank and file.

Unfortunately for Admiral Bradley, if he truly was making the call, there’s no lawyer that can protect him. Even if following orders from above, there’s no lawyer that can protect him.
