Flowers for the Sea by Zin E. Rocklyn

A mixture of horror, fantasy, and sci-fi. The rage, grief, and fight will stick with you.

Good morning my dears!

It’s been raining heavily for about 5 hours and should keep raining for another 23 hours!

I love our finished puzzle. The shimmery pieces sparkle in the candlelight.

My ginger molasses cookie and coffee are so yummy together.

Circe is picking up. It’s great!

Day 21: A series you started and plan to continue

I'm waiting to get my hands on a copy of book 2 of the Crimson Moth series. The hold list at the library is killing me. Also eagerly anticipating the release of All Hail Chaos and Captive Traitor King in 2026. #BookSky 💙📚

Kiran Millwood Hargrave’s Almost Life is a sharp, bittersweet queer love story set in 1970s Paris. Erica and Laure burn bright, choose differently, and live with the echo of an “almost” life. Tender and unforgettable. 💙

I'm not a fan of "best of" booklists at this time of year, but I loved this, writers sharing the books they love to give friends & family as gifts. Is a River Alive? & The Man Who Planted Trees are two of my faves. #booksky #reading

This novel deserves all the hype. It’s quirky, absurd, darkly funny, and at the same time horrifically provocative and razor-sharp in its satire. Why can humans be such monsters?!

The Shark House blends Hawaiian culture, science, mystery and emotional depth. Experiencing this beautiful and absorbing sea adventure with Minnow was a joy 🤩

🎧The audiobook narration by Jennifer Robideau is excellent.

🎨🖤This one surprised me in the best way. Cursed paintings, hidden grief, and a whole lot of globetrotting darkness and queer rep!

I love the Afrofuturist textures that reminded me of Black Panther. Ashing-Giwa here moves in a slower, deeper current, asking what endures when power reshapes everything.

Especially painful after the loss of constitutional abortion rights in the U.S. 💔 The real horror isn’t the witches, it’s what’s happening in real life

Despite the headline it’s not George RR Martin personally going for them cos he’s rich and famous. It’s all of us.

The test case used his work, but it’s about the plain-as-day issue that ANY generative AI ignores and infringes copyright, by passing off.

That’s a win for basic law.
Judge rules George R.R. Martin and other authors can sue OpenAI for copyright infringement

• Said ChatGPT generated 'Game of Thrones' content similar enough to infringe copyright

• OpenAI’s motion to dismiss was denied
