136 years ago, on the 6th of October 1889, the Jardin de Paris, now known as the Moulin Rouge, opened at the foot of Montmartre. The intention was to attract rich customers to the fashionable yet poor district. The Moulin Rouge is known, among other things, for the Can-can. #history #otd 🗃️

Groove-billed Anis are fabulous birds. A type of cuckoo, this species lives in social groups of up to 10 birds and they collectively guard their territory and even share a nest together!

These birds were taking a break today at @tapirvalley.bsky.social to groom each other.

Bird photography can be an illusion and some award winning shots published are of birds being baited into coming closer

So when I’m able to nail a photo of a bird from an incredibly close distance, it makes me all the more happy my patience and time birding paid off
