I am deeply saddened and angered by news that more NIH RIFs may happen next week. This is unacceptable, especially after NIH staff have worked nights & weekends to dig out from the backlog created by this admin's incompetence.

Tell your Congress people NIH needs its staff to keep delivering cures

Very cool structure! Congrats Sarah and Ahmad!

Maybe gonna do a “Trump Corruption Tier List” here’s what I have so far. Trying to focus on things that are pretty cut and dried “using the power of the presidency for personal enrichment.” What am I missing?

This morning, NASA released the #VoyagerDeclaration. This afternoon, NIH #BethesdaDeclaration signers met w/ Jay Bhattacharya. Earlier, EPA staff were terminated for their act of resistance.

I made this in solidarity. @altnih4science.bsky.social @altnasa.bsky.social @alt-epa-workers.bsky.social

Thank you Eric for highlighting our 4 preprints on various aspects of SEL1L-HRD1 ERAD biology, including CryoEM structure, ASO-mediated rescue, its role in neurons and its synergistic role with autophagy in mitochondrial dynamics. All the credits go to all the trainees and collaborators!

@jeremymberg.bsky.social to share to others - this is a forecasted NIGMS MIRA funding opportunity for established/new investigators as I know people have been asking (FOR-GM-27-002) - due date appears to be late Jan 2026: grants.gov/search-resul...

Ted Koppel interviews my Hopkins colleague Prof. Liz Jaffee, world expert in pancreatic cancer, about the devastating cuts and slow roll out of cancer research funding by the NIH.

Good read to start the morning.

It turns out that blaming a widely respected cancer researcher and doc is not a great strategy...
Our NIH director tried to launch an online mob against a world renowned cancer researcher who had the audacity to honestly report what was happening with his clinical trials

The mob arrived alright, but they weren’t mad at this cancer researcher.

My latest.

Dr. Jay Bhattacharya Tried to Summon a Social Media Mob to Bully and Silence a Dissident Scientist, but the Mob Had Other Ideas
The mob doesn't trust the medical establishment, and today Dr. Bhattacharya is the medical establishment.

🚨 New review alert! Our article "SEL1L–HRD1-mediated ERAD in mammals" is now online at Nature Cell Biology. We explore how this central ERAD pathway maintains protein homeostasis in mammals and why it matters for health and disease.

Thanks to all of the NIHers and their friends who reached out to me. I am still here (DM me or Signal jeremymberg.78)

I still have a very incomplete picture but based on what I have been told, the damage to NIH and to many wonderful people who work(ed) there is/was impossible for me to imagine
