This isn’t an original observation but every time I read the news it’s ridiculous how much dumber the world is becoming.

Parodies like Idiocracy or The Dictator are not as dumb as the reality we’re living in today.

Devastating new CNN poll on the anniversary of Trump’s first year in office: voters think he’s made everything worse — crime, free speech, health, global security. Literally every promise.

I keep thinking about the toxic, pervasive mythology of "rugged individualism" as a driving force in American culture, and how the collective efforts in the Twin Cities right now are proof that the only way through hard times is together, as a community.

this crystallizes why, despite truly heroic solidarity and activism, i can’t quite get in the “we’re going to win” mindset right now. the harm is so active and there’s so much violence we don’t even know about. people are being turned into ghosts.

I frequently criticize the Times on various fronts. With great size/power comes great responsibility. But it's always important to remember that really only they have the resources and capacity to put stuff like this together. These are like genome maps of the Trump corruption machine.

Dems have spent the past two months saying they're fighting to address the crisis of spiking healthcare costs and now they're caving for a deal that does nothing to address healthcare costs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

These guys are constantly saying that Dems need to abandon identity politics and run on kitchen-table issues. They get the most kitchen table-ass candidate imaginable, spend months saying he's secretly radical, then as soon as he wins they say he's secretly moderate.

Democrats need to seriously consider an impeachment inquiry into now-Judge Emil Bove if/when they take back the House.

He led the brazenly corrupt Eric Adams quid pro quo.

He facilitated the Tom Homan bribery cover-up.

And there’s probably more! He was Trump’s hatchet man at DOJ for months!
lol. Emil Bove intervened. The guy that Senate Republicans just confirmed for a lifetime position on the federal bench.
