I have heard concern from many Vermonters about the so-called Dept of Government Efficiency, access to sensitive data by inappropriate individuals, and troubling and sloppy mismanagement of taxpayer dollars. I want to reassure you that my office is closely analyzing this situation.

My fiance was almost sent for search and rescue... 4 members of his team are there instead. 🙏
The plane crash outside of Washington last night is devastating.
My thoughts are with the families and friends of all of those killed.
I also want to thank the first responders who did an outstanding job responding to this tragedy.

In Denmark, everyone is guaranteed health care, college education is free, parents receive 1-year of paid paternity leave & workers don’t make less than $22 an hour.

I’m not sure if everyone outside academia is aware that a delay or “pause” in grant funding often means the researchers themselves are lost from the field, along with their expertise.

NIH appears to have canceled/postponed all of its study sections—the independent review panels that approve federal grants for health research.
Such grants fund the work/salaries of 300k people at more than 2,500 institutions
