As for how the mysteries come together, I've found that each one is a bit different. Sheridan Bell's debut mystery featured a gnarly murder and magical beasts, but the new mystery is completely different -- this one features the Otherworld, a medium, and an attempted assassination.

Those who know me know Sherlock Holmes is a HUGE special interest of mine. A few years back, I decided to write my own homage to it.

I always viewed Erenville as someone who is an incredibly emotionally closed off character. As such, he rarely, if at all, opens up — even to those closest to him.

While I think he learns to be better about it in the long run, he still finds solace when on his own.
