Also, shame on any democrat politician who thought for one moment this was a radicalized progressive. We don’t radicalize toward weaponry and murder. We generally radicalize toward justice, protest, mutual aid, and community action.

In the face of tyranny, you can and should:

1. Engage with those you love

2. Support orgs that positively impact the most vulnerable among us

3. Support artists who make your community more vibrant

4. Call your congresspeople and remind them they work for you, not the despotic regime

I watched football for the first time in years yesterday caught up in my city’s frenzy - go birds - and between the passing and kicking of the ball there is so much shoving and plowing and piling up. Saw this shirt today and liked it. It was a well played game though! Wow. Still prefer baseball. 💔

I’ve been down but you wouldn’t know it from the orders I’m delivering to my local shops! (Cue Haim’s “I’ve Been Down” not sure how to add music to a post yet)

Trevor Noah was in my dream and was pointing me towards making art and just now I was on with an insurance company about art studio renter’s insurance and told the person helping me his accent sounded like Trevor Noah’s and he was pleased as he’s from Cape Town, not that far off. Hmm 🤔

Devastating for scientists and their research, and everyone who benefits from that research.

I’m not sure if everyone outside academia is aware that a delay or “pause” in grant funding often means the researchers themselves are lost from the field, along with their expertise.
NIH appears to have canceled/postponed all of its study sections—the independent review panels that approve federal grants for health research.

Such grants fund the work/salaries of 300k people at more than 2,500 institutions
All NIH study sections canceled indefinitely. This will halt science and devastate research budgets in universities.

I share this story a lot: an old school abortion access activist w experience smuggling medicine in the 1960s told me when Roe was overturned: “it just means we go back to taking care of each other despite the laws. Don’t lose faith. Find your smugglers.”
I repeat this to myself a lot these days.
