I’ve felt like this for twenty years at least. Irish media reflects the same socioeconomic bubble Irish politicians seem to live in. A mirror universe where homelessness, unemployment, rent, crime and mental illness happen off screen to other people.

FIFA president (2023 pay circa $4.5m) asks for free workers (volunteers) to sign up for the $2 billion Club World Cup that will pay millions in prize money to professional footballers. Typically volunteers lose money (travel/accommodation) to do this.

Thousands of workers were injured or died to prepare the Qatar World Cup. A report commissioned by FIFA, and never publicly revealed, says FIFA should compensate workers or families directly impacted by toll of working in Qatar. Unlikely FIFA will do that.

An unpublished report into the soccer governing body’s responsibility for migrant workers recommends that it should compensate those harmed.

A vote for Aontú is a vote to strip abortion rights & bodily autonomy.

Vote for PBP, the only ones ruling out coalition with FF&FG, then transfer left.
Don't be duped by Aontú & other right-wingers who want to roll back hard-won rights.

True but I’m okay with that to be honest
I’m starting to view Bluesky as the first old people social media app. Something new, catered to the needs of aging geriatric millennials who grew up with social media but now we need something that suits our pace and interests.

This argument would make X the Data Controller- and publisher- of everything posted on the platform, liable under both GDPR and defamation laws in every country for every post.

This is a no-lose filing.
Elon Musk's legal filing in the InfoWars bankruptcy case is both batshit crazy and also what you'd expect. It asserts that X owns every account, can do whatever it wants with them, and can inject itself into legal proceedings that have nothing to do with Twitter

Fine Gael want to keep handing public money to private developers and keep homes unaffordable

We need to completely change up our housing system with a state buildimg company and a universal public housing system that ensures people's rents are no more than 25% of their income.

The world got *fucked* and no-one has any money

People are struggling to pay bills and rent, let alone buy your game
