Good reporting on the South Shore raid from South Side weekly here.

Confirms one thing I was told but didn't put in my own piece because I didn't have a second source and it seemed too insane: border agents segregated arrested residents by race

Federal Agents Storm South Shore Building, Detaining Families and Children
Families were woken by flashbangs and helicopters as hundreds of federal agents raided their homes. Days later, neighbors are still searching for the missing.

Same, although I got a lot of my Twitter following by going semi-viral in Nigeria for "savage" tweets about the country's politics while I was there.

I'm also not posting nearly enough here to grow so... I see you posting good stuff a lot though, so people should follow you!

Thanks Jonn! You're a follower generating machine 🧲🤯

You're on your way am sure 💪🏻 I also got a few more after inserting myself into the replies 🤣

Agreed, though, it's odd to go almost back to square one. I actually get more interactions on... LinkedIn.

Eswatini confirms that 10 (not 11) more deportees have arrived there from the US.

“This group includes three Vietnamese, one Filipino, one Cambodian and four [to] six others,” said Tin Thanh Nguyen, a US lawyer for two of the Vietnamese nationals.

Nothing has come closer to turning me into a full-blown Karen than navigating South African private healthcare with insurance that is not Medical Aid. Aware this deserves the world's tiniest violin & also that South Africa's immigration system, with which I had to adopt a more zen posture, is worse.

I visited the apartment building ICE raided on Tuesday today. Story to come, but you can walk right in. Half of the apartments have no doors on them. Children's stuff abandoned in some flats. *Citizen* residents told me they were arrested and held for hours in zipties. This is America

This article manages to name her husband before it names… her.
Article reads:
Woman named as Archbishop of Canterbury in historic first

The 63-year-old archbishop-designate is married to Eamonn Mullally, with whom she has two children. Originally from Woking in Surrey, she was the UK's chief nursing officer from 1999 to 2004.

I can't emphasise enough how crazy it is that Bari Weiss will be editor-in-chief of a major *news* organisation

Bari Weiss is expected to be named editor in chief at CBS News on Monday, with parent company Paramount paying $150m in cash and stock to acquire her Substack publication, The Free Press. My story this morning: www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...

This is a very interesting article. I'm broadly an AI-sceptic, but it's pretty nuanced

I spoke to parents who are letting their young kids play with generative AI and tried to sort through some of the questions they have about it.

"I don’t know what this is doing to their brains," one dad told me.

Meanwhile, Sam Altman says, "Kids love ChatGPT on voicemode."
‘My son genuinely believed it was real’: Parents are letting little kids play with AI. Are they wrong?
Some believe AI can spark their child’s imagination through personalized stories and generative images. Scientists are wary of its affect on creativity
