Maybe if your country is the wealthiest in the world but the richest tenth of the country have two thirds of the wealth and the bottom 50% only have 2.5% of the wealth, you don't have the wealthiest country in the world, you just have feudalism.

Stop falling for the trap of latching on to the price of an item (eggs, beef…) as the message. The issue is affordability. From 2001-2023 wages failed to keep up with rising costs. Medical premiums rose 301% Travel expenses were up 170%. Rent grew by 131%. The cost of raising children grew by 107%.
