I think many politicians really want UGC online under control after Gaza. That's it. They now TikTok significantly changed American perceptions on Israel and they see that as a legitimate threat
One reason I think this has chance higher than ever (and the other bills), is the pure ideological zealous will and increasing desperation to do it. They know each bill grants them control over information more than ever, and this regime is still trying to consolidate, needs things like this.
