Something about this exact thing has cracked my brain wide open and I’ve gone from feeling like I just brute force bosses until I get lucky to feeling like I’m actually learning the fights and tangibly improving. It’s been so satisfying!!

When I worked in accessible transit this was 100% the most common hurdle when we’d deal with consultants. They simply could not grasp that a large portion of disabled transit riders, many of whom are low-income, do not have regular access to the internet, let alone a smartphone

"everybody has a smartphone these days lol" false. that's something you made up. only 91% of Americans have smartphones. those last 9% are still people who deserve services (and probably need them more than anybody else). that's still like 30.6 million people

This also contributes to how games are prioritized for coverage. Balatro is an excellent game but bc there’s nothing to spoil you can really get into how and why the mechanics work at a deeper level. Some pieces about Expedition 33 won’t even mention the characters in your party due to “spoilers”!

My games crit $0.02 is that it’s weird how averse many are to “spoiling” games in their work. Imagine trying to discuss Get Out or The Thing without talking about how they end? When folks try to protect the experience of games as a product it limits how deep you can discuss them as art

I’m signing up with a new psych for ADHD and not once but twice their office has required me to fill out paperwork within a ~6 hour window during the work day or else my appointment gets cancelled. 1. Do your clients not have jobs 2. Are you familiar with the symptoms of ADHD

Finally updated to the new MacOS and this shit is NOT colourblind friendly! The built in accessibility options or contrast options don’t do much either because the whole thing is sooo low contrast so it just ends up blown out. I’m sure with some combination of settings I’ll get there but come on 😭

I also have advice. Everybody loves reading advice on the computer, so I'll share it: the best thing you can do right now is log off as hard as you can. Go outside, talk to people in real life where it's actually kind of rude to talk about the news, try to actually see the friends you usually just text message. Go for a long drive and turn the phone off while you do it. Get back into your hobbies or pick one and learn it for a while. Watch one of those studio movies that reviews called "wildly miscalculated" and you haven't seen since high school. Play an album you like but find embarrassing. Go to free community events even if they sound stupid. If you take the freeway, try the surface streets. Go to a bad diner and just order some bad coffee because even bad coffee is good coffee.
You can't help anybody when you're exhausted and keep posting one million college-educated rewordings of "I would love to be dead right now" on the computer. Walk away from the thing and try out some of those normal things you hear about and if you get bored that's wonderful because we're not supposed to get bored anymore. It turns out boredom is the Cadillac of feelings.

Long shot but: anyone I know have a Supernote Manta? I’m super super interested in using it as a universal notebook / PDF annotation tool but having trouble committing due to the price. “Feel” and ease of use are what I care about most and it’s hard to get a sense of that from reviews 😅
