IMO You can rephrase it to "If you feel like it, I'd love to see you there." so it's more dependent on how the person feels, but showing enthusiasm for them if they did. For many, the enthusiasm makes the consideration matter more because the thought is: If someone isn't excited to see them, why go?

People with trauma histories often interpret neutral cues as negative.
"You can come if you want." sounds to them like the person doesn't actually want them to come.
Affirming that you want them there helps remove any doubts.

Reposting old articles that have no source or have a dubious source or have outright been debunked, reactionary behavior. I think flooding the room with misinfo/disinfo is going to do a lot more harm than good.

Kept an eye on that Slop Detected account for a few days and my scientific prognosis is that it looks like an unscrupulous rando with an itchy trigger finger who seems very excited about all the new attention. Early bluesky vibes (derogatory).

consider my feedback: i loved working at @larianstudios.com until AI. reconsider and change your direction, like, yesterday. show your employees some respect. they are world-class & do not need AI assistance to come up with amazing ideas.

defunctland videos are great because everyone in charge of disneyland for the past half century have been trying to carry out what they think walt would’ve wanted like they’re the patriots in MGS trying to carry out the boss’s will. coincidentally both involve giant robot dinosaurs

the best way to get out of an extrinsic game that you find yourself still playing despite disliking is to just force yourself to miss an event in-game. if you're the completionist type it's an extremely fast way to sever yourself from it

The amount of varied, fabricated excuses I saw pardoning Clair Obscur's use of AI art was absurd

"contractors did it" "it was an asset they bought they didn't know" "They patched it out it's fine" "it was just one rogue artist" or the ever present "who cares" when something they love is attacked

In recent memory this is the 3rd game caught using so called "placeholder" AI generated work

The alters did it, this did it, & Clair Obscur did it

Though one of these got away with it with almost no recognition because it was critically acclaimed

a couple of stickmen swordfighting in mspaint that's a placeholder, AI-gen shit has no use case for this & only leads to shit like this being snuck into games only for publishers to throw their hands up and say "oops you got us, that was a placeholder" only in the case of being caught

This shit is exactly why placeholders are commonly pink/black checkerboxes with PLACEHOLDER in giant text on it so that shit doesn't get missed and go to fucking retail

You don't need to make grand gestures.

You don't need to do something big and hard.

Maybe you choose to walk away from something, just for a few minutes. Maybe you don't feel you can love yourself yet, but you look for the little buds of things you like starting to sprout.

You there. I want you to say, aloud, at some point today "I'm really glad I'm good at..." And then you're gonna say something you think you do pretty well.

If you don't think you do anything pretty well, I want you to say "one little thing that makes me unique is..."

And if you can't do either?

I used to be a big fan of these as ways for people who don't have the patience for lore. But I would make it a point to drink in the lore and choose every option.

Nowadays the branching LORE DUMPS irritate me because I want to learn while Doing.

And in repeat playthrough I hit all options anyway!
I think nearly all choice-based dialogue is actually bad storytelling that mostly exists as a way to get lore dumps about the world and is often bad, repetitive writing.

I groggily turned on the TV. Square announced kingdom hearts 4,5,6 and I saw vividly toy story world and combat. I heard the orchestral theme of hikari and started crying. My partner was pogging. You can ride on a boat and run with red xiii.

Then I go 'wait am I dreaming?'

I woke up.

There's something to be said about a story that introduces a promising antagonist but they end up either just being misunderstood or have to have moral justification for evil. It knocks the villainy away because more often than not it's less a character excuse for evil but a systemic one.
and there's nothing wrong with doing that, but like, when writers start catering to that crowd by filing the edges off the villains to make them merely edgy and not actually _bad_ so it's ~okay~ that the characters are into each other... we start to see an overall flattening of available stories

Hey! New article! This one's about the history of first person shooters, what makes 'em work, and why I like the shooters I like. It's also me lamenting how they've died, and talking a bit about why I want to go ahead and make one.

first person shooters are extremely fun, but the industry rarely makes the ones i like anymore
There’s something about that anticipation as your dropship passes over open ocean and the fighting on the beach comes into view…
