📍 Immigration advice & representation
⚖️ Take government to court
🎤 Centre lived experience in our advocacy
We spoke to 68 migrant parents raising 134 children about the Government’s proposed “earned settlement” model.
👇They told us the plans would push families into government-imposed poverty and make it harder to keep their children safe, housed and secure.

This is enforced poverty! It punishes families on low incomes for needing support and rewards the wealthy. It sends a clear message: some people are deserving of stability and some are not. Simply put, this policy is both racist AND classist.
February 13, 2026 at 3:23 PM
This confirms our suspicions - these changes will cause immediate and long lasting harm to racialised children. 86% of people on the 10 year route are from Asian or African countries. This was reflected in our sample too, with all respondents being from the Global South.
February 13, 2026 at 3:21 PM
We spoke to parents of 134 children. 90% of parents, all from racialised communities, told us they would stop receiving financial support to avoid being trapped in temporary status. That means children losing access to stable housing, enough food, heating and electricity.

3/ Division tears us apart, so c'mon Keir give us a positive vision for our shared future. Recognise how vital immigration has been and is to the UK's shared story and ensure that people who make the UK their home feel part of our society.

We are so pleased to share that George has now been granted British citizenship. It's without doubt that the combination of securing national media coverage, and having his MP @stellacreasy.bsky.social advocating for him, put pressure on the Home Office to finally make the right decision.

Refugee status granted! Emmanuel got his PhD in the UK & now lectures at a London university. Returning to Cameroon would put him at serious risk because of his sexuality & HIV diagnosis. This week he got the news that he’s been granted refugee status, he can now 'get his life back on track!'

What politicians & the media forget & ignore is that it's people who are targeted by their cruel asylum policies & anti-migrant rhetoric.
Like you, these people have hopes, dreams & fears.
Today 1 such person sent us this. It captures the human impact of the govt's nasty & divisive approach 👇👇

Today we were in Westminster, training staffers for five London MPs! This was a great chance to ensure MPs are aware of the complexities of the immigration system, and how it affects their constituents. Also a great opportunity to hear from the casework teams about problems they encounter!

The UK government is threatening to deport our Ukrainian client to Russia. His whole family fled Ukraine following the Russian invasion and he has no one in Ukraine, let alone Russia.
Even if Russia would accept him, how on earth could the government think he'd be safe there?

Another day, another worried parent contacting us about what Labour's cruel immigration rules mean for them.
If the govt want to strike fear & panic into parents & partners of British citizens, people who've lived here for decades, & people with serious health conditions, mission accomplished.

Our client, a parent to a young child, just reached out, clearly terrified about her status. This panic and fear is being felt across so many families right now. People’s anxiety and mental health are suffering at the hands of our Gov. This is not fair.
November 26, 2025 at 2:47 PM
We received this from a single mother, panicking about Labour's cruel plans to increase settlement routes, ramp up deportations & make life more hostile & unpleasant for migrants in the UK.
This is the human cost of these oppressive and counter-productive policies.

New Labour policy is that if you've ever had to borrow money because this country is incredibly expensive or if you're sick and therefore don't work and pay tax, you can never secure permanent immigration status.
Just let that sink in.

This proposal will affect:
1️⃣ People with disabilities & long-term health issues
2️⃣ Parents of British children
3️⃣ Low-paid workers, such as carers
4️⃣ People who temporarily lose jobs & have paid tax for years
5️⃣ Trafficking victims
6️⃣ Torture survivors
It is unconscionable & disgusting.

🤬🤬🤬
The below is from the government's new asylum policy statement.
The language they use to demonise and dehumanise refugees is disgusting. Any MP supporting this needs to think long and hard about the sort of country they want the UK to be.
Say it loud, say it proud, refugees are welcome here.

While families live in crowded, mouldy hotel rooms, and are served inedible food, three big companies pocket millions of £££. It’s time to end the use of asylum hotels and invest in real homes, not corporate shareholders. #ProfitingfromPeople

These are the voices you never hear. People seeking safety are trapped in hotel rooms for months, often years. These lengthy stays are ruining people’s lives, whilst lining the pockets of others. #ProfitingfromPeople

In 2024, there were 463 complaints specifically about the meals provided in asylum hotels. Can you guess why?

Less than 24hrs after a damning Home Affairs report condemned military sites for asylum housing, Labour announces two more.

Wethersfield must close. Napier must close. Cameron and Crowborough must not open.

People seeking safety belong in communities, not camps.

Powerful words from our client who's been waiting a year+ for the govt to process his simple visa renewal application.
They responded to a formal complaint with bland jargon & didn't even try & justify the delay.
The govt's plan to put more people on the 10 year route will make things much worse
