I know I'm not exactly neutral on Russia but I at least give their President the grace of assuming he's not the only person on earth who thought the Estonian Army was a few more allies away from randomly besieiging St. Petersburg.

The idea that the blame should be focussed on trusting Trump is dodging the truth. The US population chose Trump, even after Jan 6, 2021, even after he talked about leaving NAT0 and after he talked about his respect for Putin. It is the action of the USA as a political entity.
