Sandra Day O'Connor was upset when Florida was first called for Al Gore because she wanted to retire but wouldn't let a Democrat fill her seat; on top of all the other ways the current justices are already corrupted and partisan, Alito is in that same position right now.
as i think about the piece itself i cannot find a way to disagree with the conclusion that the supreme court will look for any wedge or avenue it can take to give the election to trump if the opportunity presents itself.
any serious engagement with trump v. united states and the process that led to it has to conclude that john roberts is, in substance, intelligence and basic integrity and fidelity to the constitution, the worst chief justice since roger taney and one of the worst justices to ever sit on the court

According to the Supreme Court, if Eric Adams did the same things, but were president instead of mayor of NYC, he couldn’t be prosecuted, because talking with foreign interests is among the president’s “official acts,” and who are we to say taking undisclosed bribes from foreign interests is wrong.
