Among the grossest traits of SCOTUS (and modern religions) is the complete rejection of psychology as a legitimate profession where it clashes with religion. A lot of them simply believe you can persuade people not to be gay, a thing that's never worked.

A month to go and the numbers barely budged from the last poll. Polling average puts Spanberger on track for an 11% win, which I think pulls Jones over the line. If something goes wrong though (another scandal, bad debate, etc.), Jones could easily lose (just my opinion).

VoteHub has a good tracker for New Jersey. From what I can tell Democrats are outvoting Republicans in terms of raw votes but Republicans are returning their ballots faster. Dems also look like they're leading in every county. Only about ~4% of the 2024 vote cast so far. So not a lot to read into.

Might be wrong but this is the worst early turnout environment for Republicans here since 2021. That doesn't mean as much as you think because Republicans went crazy on Election Day turnout but the polls were significantly better for them this time around.

I never thought I’d live to see the day when some Americans would recoil at the sight of Soldiers guarding them.

All seemed to be well when the National Guard was in bareknuckle brawls during GWOT though.

Do you know how weird it was for us on active duty seeing them there? With us? Fighting?

I always wondered how we got to that point. Where the Guard of a state was fighting off ambushes in some foreign land.

Now they get to guard their own neighbors. Their own countrymen.

But those same Americans would shed a tear seeing those Guardsmen come home in caskets from a war nobody cared about.

Further proof that for some Americans and the media, they only love Soldiers when they’re dead.

Re: how the Jones scandal changes the race, I'm curious to see if it increases Republican turnout short-term. Last week the pace of early in-person voting slowed here while mail picked up. The former is favored by Republican early voters. So if it picks up again we'll know it's connecting.

So catching up on the weekend's news I find it plausible that someone tried to box ICE and got shot, but what I don't find plausible is that there's been no arrest or ID of this person yet.
