I heard some old friends at Pod Save America were in town, so I decided to stop by. As we saw this week, we can change this country for the better. But it’s going to take all of us getting organized and having honest conversations about the best way forward.

The GOP is holding the government hostage to strip healthcare subsidies from working families, just to fund tax cuts for billionaires. Meanwhile, SNAP benefits that feed millions hang in the balance. Their message is clear. The ultra-wealthy's tax breaks matter more than whether children eat.

As a native New Yorker who left home because it was unaffordable 30 years ago I urge everyone to VOTE for MAMDANI!
In 1988 I shared a flat off E. Broadway and Houston w/the bathtub in the kitchen, the toilet in a closet, and 2 small rooms w/loft beds - only $1250 p/m. UNAFFORDABLE then and NOW.
It is the final weekend before Election Day, and with just two days of early voting left, New Yorkers continue to turn out in droves. Follow live updates on the mayor’s race.

Just another Friday under the P47 Regime ... Next Friday, the 1 in 4 children who rely on SNAP benefits every day, will be forced by the MAGA-Captured State to go hungry.
#SNAP Food Stamps will end November 1st. 1 in 8 Americans receive #FoodStamps. For every dollar the gov't. spends, the #economy benefits up to $1.50, which will go away. The impact will be that the price of #groceries will increase. This woman makes sense! 1min

Will the US still be a democracy on our 250th Anniversary?
The Trump-packed Supreme Court has once again allowed Trump to grab more power without deciding the case on the merits or providing any rationale.

This insane practice of giving Trump free rein while the court takes its own sweet time is a recipe for authoritarianism.

Certiorari "before judgment" is how #SCOTUS takes up a full appeal *before* the intermediate federal courts have heard it.

It used to be exceedingly rare. For instance, there wasn't a *single* grant of such expedited review b/w August 2004 & February 2019.

This is the *23rd* such grant since then.
