Don't mind me, just listening to When The Levee Breaks by Led Zeppelin for what is probably the 50th time over the last few days

Missed this when it was published last week, but The Observer has a lovely writeup of my hometown (I'm pretty sure the article photo was taken on the same day I nearly stacked it multiple times walking along the promenade)

The fact there's now a sliver of royal blue in the sky during the 5pm dog walk is giving me far more strength than I anticipated

One observation from driving this weekend: a lot of near misses on larger spiral roundabouts near motorways could be avoided if people maintained a bubble of space and not drive next to another motorist or in their blind spot

Home from a beautiful weekend wedding in Surrey and now off to my parents’ for a roast and to pick up the little rapscallion that is Luna

Autopilot has failed me because Luna now has two bowls of water and no food. She does not look impressed

Really excited to share a thing I've been working on: a new book from @publicdigital.bsky.social on shaping technology for transformation.

Tech is a fundamental part of every organisation - but they're often hamstrung by layers of digital geology, alongside huge pressure to chase the latest hype.

Made another lush Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall recipe tonight: tomato and saffron baked rice. Don’t think I’ve ever had a bad recipe of his tbh

Perusing the bookshelf and rediscovered a book I’ve not read in about six years. A story about Japanese lexicographers that I remember finding surprisingly compelling. Adapted as an anime and film at some point in the 2010s, too

Finally getting around to Shannon Vallor’s book on, well, as the name suggests: technology and the virtues. Looking forward to reading this

And damn, this is the rare one where it's not the AI bros getting to me reading comments. Replies & quotes are ROUGH. By all means, dunk on AI every chance. But doing it as a cluelessly as possible, shouting ignorance from rooftop about what philosophy is + philosophers do, ain't it ya bosses. Oof.

I spend the last three days reading a book on the history of Japanese pop culture and all of a sudden I've bought myself cans of Asahi. Disgustingly impressionable

OK, fine

Browsing the Lexus website and stumbled upon their "Lexus AI Concierge" which includes example prompts such as, "Help me choose a grade" or "Summarise the [specific Lexus model you're looking at]". A wholly unnecessary (and slow) tool. Just have a better structured and content-designed website!
