The pupils were working so industriously, crafting impressive academic essays that they cared about. It was inspirational to see.
This free writing on our enquiry question worked so well with y8. Provide an interesting question, not too many scaffolds & focus on enjoying & crafting the writing with no formal assessment pressure. Some amazing & extended responses. Thanks for dropping by @rbnpepper.bsky.social

The pupils were working so industriously, crafting impressive academic essays that they cared about. It was inspirational to see.
Today I finished reading The Complete Maus by Art Spiegelman (Vol 1 1986, Vol 2 1992). This is a holocaust memoir written by the son (Artie) of an Auschwitz survivor (Valdek). It is a graphic novel where Jews are depicted as mice, Nazis as cats, and Poles as pigs. 1/3
