I’m at my local bar. Listening to an amazing acoustic duo. I forgot how much music can heal my soul. I needed tonight.

A warning what happens when a tech company prioritizes OKRs (eg "ship the new app in Q2 2024") and hitting artificial goals is what everyone optimizes for. And stops:

- Listening to customers
- Doing proper QA testing
- Holding a new release until it is ready for prod

Designers, dedicate the first and best hours of your day to yourself.

Too often, I see designers putting themselves last, giving their side projects only the leftover energy after a full day of work.

Begin each day by working on your dream.

This small commitment will transform your life.

Can we stop trying to find 1:1 replacements for work by problematic humans?

Besides setting folks up to continue idolizing artists (which is unhealthy for everyone involved), it's reductionist.

Ideas are cheap - execution is what's hard, & the execution is where the originality & art comes in.

Crazy that there was a time when if you were looking for a new program to use all you had to think about was "does it do what I need it to" and not "is the owner of this brand currently calling for the death of degenerates? What's the death list situation?"

If you're worried about AI taking your job, the answer is to focus on expertise, craftsmanship, and creativity.

On its own, AI is a terrible software dev, writer, video editor, employee, etc.

It's good at assisting parts of the process but not at making end-to-end finished work.

If you’re planning on watching any Lynch, my advice is: don’t watch any analysis videos, don’t think about what stuff is “supposed” to mean, just get your own unique experience from it!!

I think people have become far too concerned with the “correct” interpretations of media. Just experience it!!!

I miss having daily routines. Everyday seems different now. Since I’m weaning off of Meta, I’m going to continue #DailyWorkAffirmation and #KOTD here. Hopefully that will help give me a sense of control in my day. lol
