You know my 20s were spent organizing and protesting in Cairo for, among other things, the freedom to organize nonprofits, speak freely on politics. There are people still in prison for it. And to watch US legislatures willfully sign it away is wild.
I wrote about the “nonprofit killer” bill that got broad bipartisan support before Trump was elected & it was mostly being pitched as a way to attack pro-Palestine work
