I decided I wanted to see if Lush had something similar to an old haircare product I used to get there. I have never before been so offended by bad #UX design. My lord, it is a nightmare. It's like a social experiment.

Does anybody else roll through those #photoshop quick tip videos, not to learn, but to critique? I feel like a teacher approving student projects. "Hmm. Good job. However next time use a displacement map."

This is the project I've been pouring all of my passion into lately. If this is going to be relevant to you or someone you know, please pass it on. The aim is to help, because the industry is going to be rough soon.
The body mod industry deserves better coverage — not more noise.

Indelibra is launching soon: real reporting on regulation, safety, tech & culture.

I'm just digging into a side project that I already know is going to get big and unwieldy. I'm weirdly excited for that, and I can't figure out why.

It's interesting. My anxiety hasn't reduced of late, but I've had a bit of a moment where I am finding drive I had lost. I am powering through a personal project and dusting off an old hobby with real goals now. It's exciting but also confusing.

Star Citizen really messed me up. If a video game's website is too nice, I'm immediately suspicious and looking for the grift.

I'm just now watching Mashle for the first time. I've never found any animated character attractive in a real way. I get it but not for me.

Until Margarette Macaron. I'm like, ready to give it all up.

Post a ship that's not Star Wars or Star Trek.

Alright, #bskydesign. All the methods to measure your seniority are bunk. There is only one accurate way to determine your experience level as a designer. How much quality work can you do when you are half asleep? This is the skill.

I will tell myself this to keep from crying. #design

"Hey Alexa, what does it look like when you go straight from selected concepts to full production?"

I tend to go at books at least 2 at a time. Right now, I'm reading through The Collected Stories of Arthur C. Clarke, because I discovered there are a quite a few shorts in there I had missed.

On the other side of thingsI have Under the Black Flag on the nightstand, because YARRRG, HISTORY.
Monday comes around again and this week I'm just about to start 'The Salt Grows Heavy' by Cassandra Khaw

What book(s) are you reading this week?

Bsky needs an option to post directly to a feed. Put a dropdown arrow to the right of the "Post" button with the options Post, Post to this feed, Post to a different feed.

I think it would massively boost hashtag use and engagement.

One of my biggest points of envy is seeing people who can fire off emails without proof reading twenty times.

So I keep thinking about this, and the thought process keeps sending me: www.creativebloq.com/design/logos...

Imagine, having the opportunity to claim a massive space in the landscape, and instead just aping a competitor scheme and a legacy mark. It's mind-numbing.
Sorry HBO, this isn't the MAX rebrand we wanted
It seems the logo design might change again.

My home has at least 8 backpacks floating about, up for grabs. All styles and sizes.

My wife takes her iPad, art supplies and sketchbooks to work everyday in a shopping bag.

I can't remember the last time I just felt good about a project I finished. This isn't healthy. I love design. I want to love my design again.

I love creating videos. I hate having to slap them together. It enrages me.

Somebody invite me to play D&D. I'm far too much of a nerd to have never played. Please?

To all my data analysts out there today; I'm so sorry you have to suffer the way you are. Nobody should see that, and I appreciate the trauma you are carrying now.

It's the end of the work day over here.

What did everyone get done today?

Honest question: is Udemy worth a damn anymore? I have credits there from removed courses from ages ago, and I'm wondering if there is still value in their lessons.

Blue Note Records album covers by designer/art director Reid Miles. Miles' keen design sense helped change the way that jazz was marketed and presented, and also would alter how black musicians were perceived.

I want to start sharing dead designs on Fridays. To kick things off here are a couple of logos that never saw the light of day (clients went a different route)

Before you tear apart that terrible logo on the shelf, try to remember it was probably the design teams 22nd choice that was tweaked based on the "intuition" of the upper C-suite.
