"We’re going to be doing something with Greenland, either the nice way or the difficult way.”-trump
Mob lawyer Roy Cohn was Trump's biggest political influence.
It's always been about shakedown and threat.
Time for Canada and Europe to stop pretending.

That one person can drag us into a war without consulting or even notifying Congress, or our allies, or fully explaining to the American people why this is necessary, is absolutely bonkers.

Reminder that Congress has the power to stop all of this. Where the hell are they?

The brand damage done to the brand of the US over the past few years may be unrecoverable. At least for decades, if not multiple generations. Again, shareholders should take note.

People are going to try and lure you into debates about whether Maduro was a good guy or not and the thing is, it doesn’t matter for the purposes of discussing whether violent kidnappings and extrajudicial murders by the US government are ok. No, they aren’t! End of convo.

Trump's regime has murdered people in the water. He has seized ships on the high seas. He has invaded a country and kidnapped their leader.
All bets are off with the United States.
Canada needs to build alliances with Europe and to be ready on the home front.

The key to democracy is still in the power of shareholders (not voters, unfortunately) - if we act collectively now. Shareholders need to demand: Time to have every CEO state publicly whether they commit to liberal democracy. International rule of order - or profit and power first?

As Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis stated in 1933; “We can have democracy in this country or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of the few, but we cannot have both.”

Today, at a time of unprecedented income & wealth inequality, his words ring truer than ever.

This government could save $6 billion by selling unneeded office space and embracing a flexible remote work model. Their own research proves it.

Full in-office mandates are a huge waste of taxpayer money. Join the fight to protect remote work.

Oligarchy (noun):

A government of and by a few at the top, who exercise power for their own benefit. Their power and wealth increase as they make laws that favor themselves, manipulate financial markets, and create monopolies that put more wealth into their pockets.

How awful. This is outright health disinformation, lying to the American people. Not only is there massive evidence showing no link between vaccines & autism, there’s not even a plausible mechanism based on what we’ve learned about the genetics of autism, some environmental exposures in pregnancy
HEADS UP: CDC website now officially asserts that vaccines may cause autism.“Studies supporting a link have been ignored by health authorities.” Also says the “vaccines do not cause autism” header remains b/c of an agreement with Cassidy.

This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

The future of the Democratic Party must be rooted in investing in the American people — not Wall St., corporations, and consultants.

Otherwise, Trumpism will continue to use cynicism, racism, and distrust to divide America.

The “leaders” in so much of society and business have lost the social contract and trust to be coined “leaders”. New language for those with power but not “leading” is needed.
The disappearance of America’s leadership class at a time like this means that the rest of us have to be leaders. We can no longer wait to be led by those with the power and authority to lead. You must lead, I must lead, all of us must lead. We are the leaders we’ve been waiting for.

I cannot overstate how remarkable it is that under GOP rule, US federal health regulations have been captured by fringe crackpots who espouse views that the vast majority of the US public—and nearly 100% of health professionals—reject.

The murder of Charlie Kirk was criminal, wrong, and should be condemned.

And Charlie Kirk was a horrible, hateful man who spent his life radicalizing young people to embrace their worst demons by targeting women, people of color, immigrants, and the marginalized.

I refuse to sanitize him.

I’ve said it before but reading all the medieval history books I’ve been reading lately has been so comforting. Makes you realize that there have always been mad and incompetent kings and they almost always die in ignominy and everyone piles shit on them for centuries after they’re gone.
