LA native, DC transplant and this is facts
I’ve thought this for a long time, but spending a few days here in DC has pretty much confirmed it: LA and New York are not alike at all. DC is MUCH more like LA.

I will also add that I'm a big fan of Plex and maintain a library of about 250 shows and movies linked to a 5 TB hard drive that travels with me. But all of that is a digital surrogate for the physical copies I keep and watch at home.
DRM and big tech's war on ownership has led me to make my own media libraries, and you should too.

I'm a digital archivist and I collect DVDs, VHS, CDs, cassettes, etc. That should tell you something about the state of digital media. I've seen 5 year old files that are irretrievable, but my 40 year old VHS of Pee-wee's Big Adventure is going strong. Physical media > digital media > streaming
DRM and big tech's war on ownership has led me to make my own media libraries, and you should too.
