Meanwhile, policies against hate speech on the shelf are more likely to be applied AGAINST marginalized people's voices. It's a power imbalance thing.

Many library workers have a hard time with this one. Maybe even cite the punk anecdote about keeping Nazis out of bars before it becomes a Nazi bar.
It doesn't work that way with books. Vicious books exist but they aren't a physical threat making the space unsafe.
