I’m demanding that [Rep or Senator XYZ] call for the immediate resignation of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth & National Security Advisor Michael Waltz for having a classified conversation on a personal phone and a commercial messaging app.
Those conversations are supposed to take place in a SCIF - Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility in their home or office.
National security experts say that a 2023 Department of Defense memo specifically cited Signal as one example of an “unmanaged” messaging app that is not authorized to transmit non-public DOD information.
Any Defense Secretary or National Security Advisor who carelessly uses a non-secure phone to have classified conversations is putting our troops at immeasurable risk.
