AJJ's live from Quarantine series was such a valuable part of the year 2020 and 2021 to me. Sean really put in a little time almost every day of quarantine for those of us at home to entertain, to empathize, and rally. I'm not ashamed to say I still go back and listen to those sets. When I first sketched this idea, I'd had the Doom Patrol staring off at some strange, fantastical thing before them, only I hadn't gotten as far as what specifically they were looking at... Then I had the thought "What if me not coming up with anything was the joke?" in a meta sort of way...

Actually, All-American trash was a huge inspiration for this project. I'm such a big fan of Brockhampton's music, as well as their visual language, so when I was looking for ideas, this artwork really stood out to me.

I had a lot of fun working on this piece! I wanted to pay homage to the classic Suicide Squad #1 cover, while bringing something completely new, from sharp, uneven bordering, creases and textures, to drop-shadows under each layer, this collage-style graphic was so rewarding as an artist
