Unpopular opinion: Landlords should be required to disclose how much their monthly mortgage payment is. There are landlords w mortgages a fraction of what a single tenant pays bc they purchased the home so long ago. Profiting off of other people paying off your investment should be illegal.

BREAKING: Donald Trump’s nominee for the Department of Defense, Pete Hegseth, has been accused of abusing women by his own mother. In a 2018 email, she wrote:

“On behalf of all the women (and I know it’s many) you have abused in some way, I say … get some help and take an honest look at yourself”

Birds of a feather
NY Times: The mother of Pete Hegseth, Trump’s pick for secretary of defense, wrote him an email in 2018 calling him an “abuser of women.”

Elon has bought and bullied his way through Twitter, effectively removing any voices of dissent.

Now, he's doing the same to the presidential cabinet.

While I look forward to having more reputable journalists on this platform, I fear for the echo chambers that could result of this. The people who need to hear our messages most will not see them here.
JOURNALISTS FLOCK TO BLUESKY

“We have posts exactly the same on Twitter & on Bluesky & Bluesky is getting 20 times the engagement or more than Twitter. Seeing a social media platform that doesn’t throttle links really makes it clear how badly we were being limited”

Journalists flock to Bluesky as X becomes increasingly 'toxic'
Journalists are finding more readers and less hate on Bluesky than on the platform they used to know as Twitter.

Even when he is held accountable, his followers will say the system was rigged against him (E Jean Carol case, convictions for sending fake electorates, etc.). But it somehow wasn't rigged in 2016 or during this last election? The way he has his followers fooled by his every word needs to be studied

This is in reference to a phone call where Pardo explained, "Mexico's position is not to close borders but to build bridges b/w governments and peoples." Trump is blatently lying to Americans, and w/o any social media regulations holding him accountable on X, we will only see this worsen from here
There’s an astounding level of gullibility in believing that the smartest minds in America can’t solve complex political issues, yet the playboy billionaire TV star who assaults women supposedly figured out all you have to do is pickup the phone

I can’t believe America will soon have Fox News hosts working in many of our most vital agencies. Trump is setting us up for failure.

I also hate the “communism and capitalism both suck let’s invent something else”

Communism is a society without class divisions. Anything else you invent would still have class divisions and contradictions and thus sucks shit.

I'm really scared that Trump is going to go through w what he ran on and actually start rounding up immigrants for deportation. But a little part of me is hopeful that it's going to be a repeat of the last time he won, when he went on and on about promises of a wall he never delivered on.
November 28, 2024 at 5:08 AM
Can anyone explain how going thru w Trumps deportation plans would actually be a net benefit to most middle class Americans? I've seen countless economists talk about how detrimental it would likely turn out, yet somehow millions of Americans were fooled into going with it. Convince me otherwise.

Pregnant Texas teen dies after being turned away from three different medical facilities bc, despite experiencing sepsis, her fetus still had a heart beat and intervening was considered "too risky." Risky for who?

Her family was pro life. These restrictions aren't.

Dems lost because the message was hard to convey, it wasn’t conveyed effectively, and we lacked a trusted messenger.

Republicans invest $ into ppl like Charlie Kirk and Tim Pool. In a time of distrust, these serve as trusted messengers. Dems need to invest in this type of digital infrastructure!
