I'm loving bluesky, I must say. I don't care if bots have arrived or impersonators are popping up.
I never used Twitter even before it became X, but bluesky just feels right and I feel like I can really express myself honestly and let the chips fall where they may. It feels genuinely real here

Wondering what it takes to start a new political party in the US today.
The Whig party was founded in 1833 during Jackson's authoritarian presidency with the main goal of limiting presidential power.
We ended up with 4 Whig presidents before the party dissolved.
Where's that kind of spine now?

When it comes to dealing with trolls or authoritarianism- just remember the better offense is to laugh it off, or laugh them off, than to get upset or angry.

They do it to make you angry. It's all to get a rise.

If you laugh, they lose.

Every day I will count down to the special election. 126 days until the election. If we get enough people to see this and get them to get their family/friends in the district to turn out we can theoretically flip under the low turnout it even though this is the least flippable of the three.
Not April Fool's: the 1st scheduled special election is for Matt Gaetz's district on April 1. If you're ready to flip it, I want you to repost this and follow me.

The silver lining would be that at some point if your entire system is based on either succeeding or failing upward - there's going to be a point where you hit maximum, 'un-upwardable' fail.

1. I've been doing a lot of thinking, and most of what scares me is that Trump promotes scandals and embarrassment to the point of 'career-ending.'
Then he lets the chips fall where they may and if they fail - he keeps talking and lures them back with the allure of power and wealth.

2. His superpower as a charismatic individual is his ability to fail upward and create a 'fail upward' train for his minions by absolutely flooding the zone with corruption, to the point you don't care. And then, you are at the mercy of breaking as a person and joining his 'fail upward' train.
