Don't juggle books by their covers!
On not making what the 2nd branch does into laws:

The way Congress is functioning is so messy that it is difficult to keep track when so much other crap simultaneously occurs.
Apparently some Exec Orders have been made into law. How to know which? Digging deeper than we should need to?

Dysfunction

Writing a letter from prison to another prisoner seems like an odd thing to do
If he had been in there for years, maybe
Up until he died, I kind of expected him to get out on bail or something. It didn't seem like it was a long term pre-trial situation for him until the day they announced his death

Apparently, this story is from a few months ago, a good prediction.

My thing is there are always people who will set up others to fail while they still come out on top

So, I didn't trust the situation.
There are so many tv / news execs capable of her job

Memo to Bari Weiss Re: CBS News: You’re doomed
Bari Weiss has sold her company, The Free Press, to manage the decline of broadcast news at CBS. How many ways can it go wrong?

By the ghost of Shirley Jackson!

That glove gripping the coal bucket/ wood cozy/ whatever you NEasterers call it is kinda creepy though.

Nice stove though.
December 23, 2025 at 5:08 AM
Though, maybe that wouldn't be too funny.

If the most qualified end up ...

There is nothing about this that doesn't need to stay in movie screenplays.

There is always more important stuff than the hairbrained ideas that man throws into the media blender.

We already got the Olympics.
I have known some athletes who trained for Olympic sports
That was a chunk of time they devoted to *trying* to be good enough

Non-Olympic level kidsproves themselves worthy how?
It is just ridiculous.
What is funny though is if all participants are DEI in Trump's eyes
December 23, 2025 at 4:35 AM
It is very much NOT some movie that "grows on you" as you grow older.

My guess is only people who worked on it are pleased with it for reasons ranging from:
"it was ground-breaking" at the time
To
"It paid the rent;"

In contrast, so much stop motion before & since is warmer, more alive

A thing about Mike is he might not make it through 2026 as Speaker.

That he has stayed in the job this long is probably largely due to Trump not hating him, and him putting all the legislative eggs into one basket back in July, and the House constantly being out of session for much of the year.

Maybe that Canadian network took it down, too, if this is the one that aired it lase night.

!! Here’s a link to full video of the 60 Minutes segment that Bari Weiss killed last minute, via @jasonparis.bsky.social:

(It was uploaded to the Global TV app in Canada, seemingly by accident, and has now been taken down)

In the bottom , right-hand corner, that Captain Marvel Rabbit is apparently flying faster than the other Marvel family members. Uncle Dudley- in upper right-hand corner- is bringing up the rear, of course
December 23, 2025 at 2:46 AM
FWIW, I read that in Canada the broadcast was aired as originally promoted.
So, it is likely online at whatever Canadian broadcaster shows 60 Minutes

(And, yeah. I know this is deeply over-shadowed by the "Pogo" comic strip parody of "Deck the Halls". But there was only one Walt Kelly.)

It is when men just set someone up to fail.

It may not be the case here.

But, you can bet if she is jettdoned or bails the next person will burn down everything, CNN added to CBS or not.

They would go 100% A I
December 22, 2025 at 9:43 AM
There is a term for when women are given the helm of a failing company. CBS News is in perpetual 3rd place, rating-wise
It could get a boost if CNN were combined into it. I can't see Weiss being suddenly more qualified to run a behemoth like that, reforming two divisions

The term is a Glass Cliff
December 22, 2025 at 9:41 AM
If but "the place," do you mean the news division or 60 Minutes?

I hate to think it would be anyone's plan to dismantle the division; strip it to bare wire

I was under the impression she is steering it towards a MAGA friendly direction. The entire network will do same

She could be a lightning rod
December 22, 2025 at 9:41 AM
...can be made...
?
There are still hand drawn productions. In a way, it is the same as it has always been with animators, some studios doing shorts.

And, beyond anime, there are studios who might use some CG, mixed into the hand drawn.

Sounds like another great book!

Also, for reasons I can't quite understand, apparently people are drinking less.
Maybe those other things like edibles are surplanting drinking. But, it is more than just "dry January".

In good times and in bad times, there is usually more drinking.

Those trends aren't great for Big Booze/Beer

A pause.
A layoffs situation.
But, of the Madness of King Orange continues then, sure, the entire liquor biz could close down, leaving us high and dry at the worst time: the oncoming Not So Great Depression!

Amazing he got away with drawing Chuck laying down, on his back, and it is drawn as if he is standing.

The gap between most of his body and the ground is... getting away with it.
Or,
Charlie Brown is such an uptight blockhead he is incapable of relaxing like a regular human being!
