I can think of a bunch of reasons-it will cause Maga Mike to have an even narrower margin & she doesn't exactly like him, may have cut a deal with the Trump/Epstein survivors & without an NDA about whatever she knows is in those files she can talk freely.
Okay but why not serve out the rest of her term? Why leave a year early? Not that I’m complaining…

It occurs to me that the reason Trump "changed" his mind about the release of the Epstein files was he realized the Discharge Petition was going to pass and by saying he supported it means he gets to claim credit for it -- like people would forget how he fought the release.

Finished reading Steve Benen's Imposters about how the Republican party giving up even trying to govern. It came out in 2020 but as I read it I kept thinking that all he needs to do to update the book is change the dates to 2025 & put in a few footnotes saying "today they've made things even worse."
