I have two professor colleagues who have faced threats and harassment due to the organization Charlie Kirk built, and they were not alone. We can denounce and loathe political violence without hagiography for its victims. This is dangerous nonsense.
"But I envied what he built. A taste for disagreement is a virtue in a democracy. Liberalism could use more of his moxie and fearlessness."
That is Ezra Klein.

Charlie Kirk was a neo-Nazi stochastic terrorist... that's who @kemibadenochmp.bsky.social is eulogising.

“in apparent effort to force hand of Hamas” is not a good substitute for “in clear crime against humanity”.

This would mean the shutting down of Gaza’s only two remaining functioning desalination plants.

You know, to drink water.

I disagree entirely.

Brexiteers have been saying that the EU will collapse any day now… for decades.

Also, that looked much truer after 2008, when the member states were at 6s & 7s and then came the Brexit vote.

But Brexit, Covid, Ukraine war, and now Trump actually made EU more cohesive.

It's taken a couple of months, but I think I've almost got over the automatic fight, fight, fight mode that I had on Twitter.
It's a healthier space to occupy.

Syria is a fabulous country, with great history and fabulous people. The new leadership should show the world just how great it - and Muslim hospitality - is by encouraging tourism. Defeat the lies and scare stories that the Zionists will tell by being open to the world.

This is what conflict of interest, lack of ethics and lack of integrity looks like.
Farage skipped the big Commons vote on the smoking ban last night so he could present his GB News show for which he earns £100,000 a month, far more than his MP’s salary.

Servant of the people and all that.

With respect to the 'farmers' protesting today, I'd go one step further than the Labour Government has. Let's abolish all farming subsidies.

NZ did it. Farming there didn't collapse - instead it faced a renaissance, with growth, diversification and an influx of younger farmers.
