Republicans don't want to reopen the government — they are happy to kick millions of Americans off their health care and let premiums skyrocket for millions more.

Shout out to @repbrendanboyle.bsky.social for explaining that EVERYONE’S healthcare premiums are going up. That means if you get it through work, either you are paying more if you pay for some or all of your premiums. If your employer pays, you won’t be getting a raise or coverage will get cut.

On Sunday, I officially renamed the Bustleton Post Office in honor of Sgt. Christopher Fitzgerald, a Temple police officer tragically killed in the line of duty.

I’m glad legislation I led made this small but fitting tribute possible for a life devoted to serving our city.
