In April 2024, Spotify implemented a new scheme: songs with less than 1k streams per year would no longer receive royalties.

On a hunch, I bought a 4K DP to HDMI cord and connected my HTPC to my Samsung TV using it. Then I installed Slackware current to a separate hard drive, and used the Nvidia installer directly from their website to install the proprietary driver. And it worked!

Told the D&D group last night I couldn't continue my campaign. They took it better than I thought, but I always assume the worst in these situations, to a debilitating degree. I need to talk to a real therapist. The drugs are helping, but they aren't a fix.

Struggling to focus on D&D prep. I don't know how much longer I can do the DM roll. It's been two hours and all I can do is catastrophize the state of our nation and american society. The drugs help, but only so much.

Fedora trial run isn't going great. The HTPC I have yet to install the real nVidia drivers on because Fedora has very poor on screen keyboard support. More importantly, it keeps crashing. And I mean full lock out no-tty no-ssh crashes. The latest one was idle at the desktop with nothing running.

I've tried Pop!OS, CachyOS, EndeavorOS, MX Linux KDE, and MX Linux XFCE. All of them are either completely broken at boot, or completely broken once I load the nvidia drivers. At this point I'm going back to Manjaro, but I suspect it's not going to do any good. It has to be nvidia.

Took me two days to get Windows 11 to install without a Microsoft account and with minimal telemetry. And depending on how well Steam games work with Pop!OS I may not even need it. Fun hobby lol.
