Yep, PSU has failed - still producing AC but not DC. I guess this must have been the only reason the C64C was sold as not working.

They're invaluable. I think I got one free with a hot air station or something and it took a while before I twigged what it could be used for.

I think the dust might have absorbed some of the battery juice so maybe its presence was a good thing 😁

Thats cool. Actually I was thinking of using a strip of three header pins and soldering it to that, should I ever put it in an original case.
