This is Marco Rubio explaining how the USA promised to defend Ukraine forever if they got rid of their nuclear arsenal left after the Soviet Union fell.

This is why lil marco was sinking into the couch. He was hoping we wouldn’t find it…so don’t RT right now this very second.

Your dignity honors the bravery of the Ukrainian people.

Be strong, be brave, be fearless.
You are never alone, dear President Zelenskyy.

We will continue working with you for a just and lasting peace.

The Washington Post refused to run this ad. Sure would be a shame if it went viral.

If our Christianity causes kids to go hungry, the sick to go without healthcare, the stranger to be unwelcome, and the elderly on social security they paid into to be called a “parasite,” all while billionaires get richer, we’ve profoundly misunderstood the most basic elements of Jesus’ teachings.

if I understand American politics correctly, progressivism is something that requires 60 senate votes to work, while national conservatism doesn’t require any votes at all

Something I know: race isn’t real. There is only one race and there’s a lot of amazing diversity within our human family. And. Race is so deeply believed to be real that racism is deeply experienced by those who are not white. White people have immense privilege just because of skin pigmentation.

Things I believe: greed is the root of almost every awful evil. Greed explains systems like white supremacy, patriarchy, classism. Greed is causing our climate crisis, the wage gap, health crises, inflation, and so much more. On an individual level, greed is at the root of my worst impulses.

Reporters: Please stop calling things DEI that are not DEI. This is only cementing the propaganda being used to legitimize the dismantling of all types of initiatives that are not DEI as well as legitimize efforts to end civil rights enforcement. Be specific with your language. Be accurate.

Things I believe: Joy is an act of resistance. In an environment that is pushing us toward fear and panic and overwhelm it is important to choose joy every day. Make art. Sing loud. Take up space. Notice the stuff that is good. Even in the midst of really difficult time, there are moments of bliss.

Things I believe: I believe in the value of expertise. To study a subject with discipline and depth is vital. Scientists, engineers, economists, have made so much of our lives better. Artists, writers, philosophers have insights we need. An expert’s observation is better than a pundit’s sound bite.

Hi there! I listened to your interview with Rachel Maddow, and have an observation about the echo chamber concern: Free press should not be expensive for people to access. Conservative stuff is free, probably subsidized by oligarchs, but good journalism is hard to access

Things I believe: it’s really easy to be overwhelmed with the evil in the world, and it’s true that no one person can fix it. But if every person who desires to serve the common good does what is in their power to do, evil cannot ultimately triumph. It never has.

Things I believe: There’s enough. There’s enough money, time, energy, giftedness, dignity, respect for every person to have what is necessary for a good life. Scarcity is a myth perpetuated by those who have a vested interest in keeping us squabbling so we don’t look too closely at their greed.

Things I believe: Institutions that are necessary to the common good should not be for profit. Healthcare, education, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, prisons, public safety, journalism—to name a few—are easily corrupted. Too many people are suffering so that the rich can get richer. It’s wrong.

Things I believe #4: I believe in the common good. Institutions must serve everyone, not just a privileged few. Our culture reveres individuality, but we cannot succeed without each other. No one is self-made. We rely on the fruits of the labor of others. No one should be considered inferior.

Things I believe #3 Gender identity is a spectrum. Trans people are not mistakes. Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Non binary is a normal way of identifying. And there is no way that trans people’s existence oppresses anyone. Be kind. Be curious. Be compassionate. At least don’t be a jerk.

Things I believe in #2 Just as diversity is built into creation, there is also a vast diversity of experience. Believe people who have different experiences than you. Racism, sexism, heterosexism, classism are all real experiences, and it is likely that at some point you have hurt someone. Own up.

Things I believe in
#1
Diversity is a God thing. We spend a lot of time recognizing the ways we are the same and all the things that are common to our humanity. This is good. And. We also need to spend time celebrating the ways we differ from one another. Difference is not deficient.
