For years we have said the Republican goal was to privatize the VA, and Project 2025 underscored that. Now, the VA is about to transfer a trillion dollars worth of VA care to the for-profit sector, and ask that it only adhere to private health care industry standards of care.

This is the clearest example of the positive power of vaccines. No change in hygiene eradicated smallpox. No scientist ever developed an antiviral against it. Moms did not host smallpox parties to boost herd immunity. The reason (the ONLY reason) it is gone is widespread immunization. Period.
