He/him, probably not going to be terribly chatty.
Man, I try not to be a prescriptivist, but the part of me that can't help it is starting to get really irritated by the use of "compute" as a noun.

We had to boost my sister in through the garage window to get the snow shovels because she was the only one small enough to fit, then sled the snow into the backyard to dump it. Had a little celebration when we unearthed the roof of the car. Good family exercise is what it was.

This is a beautiful, moving tribute to an incredible woman whose murder left Minnesota so much poorer.
I met Melissa Hortman in October of 2024. She was smart and kind. I heard about her murder in a LA hotel room and it dropped me to my knees. So I went to Minnesota and talked to her kids, parents, and friends. This is not true crime, this is Melissa in real life. www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

Drack is my favorite krogan.
Like, Wrex was a hard act to follow for Krogan characters and then they went and gave us the best crotchety old Krogan grandpa!

"I'm going to tax the everloving shit out of the rich people who made your life miserable and put every masked thug who broke the law or traitor who wrecked the government for their own profit in prison" I admit is too long for a sign, but at the very least this should be the spirit of the thing.
No value, no villain, no vision. Sounds like the tagline for the earnings call of a collapsing appliance retailer

There has never been a more urgent need to have a society internalize the sentiment “The cemeteries are full of irreplaceable men.”

Thread, and also a useful video demonstration: the Paul R Tregurtha is 1013 feet long, and on December 1 2017 had to do a donut in Lake Superior when the Aerial Lift Bridge suddenly stopped, well, lifting. The emergency maneuver took about fifteen minutes. www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2I7...

Scrolling through my own profile because I was literally about to write exactly this again but thought "I bet I've said this before." I will undoubtedly at least think it again; Slow Cooker Roast Beef Smell In A Tiny Apartment is an eternal mood.
The trouble with roast beef in the slow cooker is that it makes the entire apartment smell delicious all day, so I end up snacking more.

You wouldn't think "you feel like that because you haven't eaten in eighteen hours, have some food" would be a lesson you'd need to learn more than once, and yet.

This kind of thing makes me so frustrated. Like, isn't game development already hard enough? You're gonna decide which one person is to blame for you not liking it as much as you wanted to, and go after them in public?
Congrats, dipsticks. You came in with enough spun-up-in-fandom-until-toxic takes to alienate the guy who sacrificed his mental and physical health fighting to have past Dragon Age respected as much as it was and give people who cared about Solas's arc a respectful ending. Great work, no notes.

I wonder sometimes what it must feel like to be a Leverage mark. I mean, there you are, shitty little king of your shitty little hill, and everything's going the way you want. Until one day it isn't. Because Heistzilla is in town and they've decided they don't like you.

And also it feels like "we have the right to non-lethal sandwiches" should not be something that needs to be POINTED OUT in twenty goddamn twenty-five.
" We have the right to go out and put together a sandwich and have it not kill us. That's a fundamental right, and the country is stronger when that right is in place." from the woman who literally wrote the book on food safety in the US: buttondown.com/theswordandt...

the thing I hate most about that rfk quote is that autistic lives have value and worth and beauty and dignity whether they are able to do the things other people do or not. no one is defined by ability or lack thereof and to frame divergence as lack is monster stuff, utterly godless

Not for nothing, but you could run a game of D&D via filibuster.

"9".

Me. I derive quite a lot of joy from that, actually. It makes me feel remarkably better. Kind of like petting a puppy, or taking a midday nap in the sun. Just pure endorphins and glee.
Musk: I mean, have you Tim Walz, who is a huge jerk, running on stage with the Tesla stock price.. What an evil thing to do. What a creep, what a jerk. Like who derives joy from that?

have gotten to the point in my tour of video games that run much better on my new computer where I'm picking up BG3 again, and making my Tav the nephew of my tabletop dragonborn warlock continues to be the funniest possible decision.

Me: Boy, there's few things I love more than clearing out an entire base with stealth takedowns.
Spider-Man 2: Hey, d'you wanna freeform your own web tightropes across empty space, letting you stealth takedown from anywhere in a room without ever having to touch ground?
Me: WOULD I?!

Playing Spidey 2 now that it's out on PC and so far my major takeaway is--they let Norman "Devil's Breath" Osborn get zoning permission to build a particle accelerator in Midtown? After a runaway reactor nearly blew up Harlem? Marvel New York is the craziest town.

Buttered noodles were not so much a struggle meal for me as for my mother, who had to feed a child who refused at all costs to eat cheese, tomatoes, nearly all fruits, many vegetables, any non-ketchup sauce, and any food that touched any other food on the plate.
One recurring comment to this post was "Oh, look at Mr. Fancy McNotpoor, he never had a struggle meal growing up" and I assure you I did, just not this one, our nation is vast and apparently struggle meals vary by region
Apparently I am the only American human who did not eat buttered noodles as a child, also noodle with just butter sounds weird, I like noodles and I like butter but come on you need more than just those two things

Just finished Veilguard. Gosh that was fun. So glad I went for the computer upgrade this year instead of putting it off until like 2026.

Also, probably one of the most difficult "choose your heartbreak" moments since original Virmire, so all the kudos for that.
