What's it like round here? What are the people like? What do they do when they are not doing maths? Do they have fun?

Films about people who also do maths. @joshuabull.bsky.social

Mathematical people!

If N is an integer and 1/N gives a non-recurring decimal fraction ending in 5 (e.g., 1/8=0.125, 1/400=0.0025), is N always equal to ((10^X) * (2^Y)) for some integers X>=0 and Y>0? Are there any Ns that do not obey this?

Pattern block play with heptagons! #21CenturyPB #iTeachMath
The main image in the upper left corner shows a radial design created with 21st Century Pattern Blocks. The design begins with six heptagons arranged around a central hexagon. Each heptagon uses the same block arrangement in the first layer. Surrounding this, a second layer consists of 12 additional heptagons, constructed using a different block arrangement. The first two images along the bottom show the two distinct heptagons used in the design. The first heptagon is made up of 1 purple hexagon, 2 gray darts, 3 blue rhombuses, and 4 pink triangles. The second heptagon is made up of 3 gray darts and 8 pink triangles. The three images on the right show the progression of the design.

New wall as there was some interest yesterday. Create 4 groups of 4 and name what links each group. I think this is slightly harder than the last one. Puzzgrid link: puzzgrid.com/grid/105543

It's good for ages roughly 7-14 years old. Definitely KS2 in the UK but relevant to younger and older too. A great resource for any teacher of maths! Honest!
