🤔 What if the key to a stronger #NHS isn't a new technology but human connection?

In our latest blog, @jtaylor001.bsky.social explores how a lasting relationship between patients & GPs:

✅ improves patient health
👛 lowers system-wide costs
😀 makes the GP job more satisfying

🚫New RCT highlights what not to do in clinical practice. Using a fancy HandScan to guide therapy was less effective than standard care.

🔍The study also revealed high non-adherence highlighting real-world challenges of rigid treat-to-target protocols.

Clinically relevant patterns helped distinguish #osteoarthritis, #fibromyalgia and immune-mediated rheumatic diseases.

This may reduce misdiagnosis and support earlier triage.

Ooh - my new paper on case study is out! What’s a case study, how do you do one, how do you spot a good one? Includes niche examples like the REF impact case study (though it’s mainly about research case studies).
Calling all researchers and educators📣 This new RMR by @trishgreenhalgh.bsky.social on how to conduct effective case studies, offers guidance for using them for learning & decision-making.

Essential reading for robust research!

I took paracetamol in both my pregnancies for minor joint troubles. I had a better pregnancy experience because I wasn't in pain. Neither of my kids is autistic. The high-quality studies and reviews confirm there is NO evidence that paracetamol taken by the mother causes autism in the child. 🧪

Please know that this is Trump scaremongering.

There is no good scientific evidence linking paracetamol (Tylenol) to autism.

A 2024 Swedish study of 2.4 million births found no relationship whatsoever between exposure to paracetamol in utero & subsequent autism.
