M4.6 near Orcas Island, 45 km ENE from Victoria and 70 km from Vancouver.

I mean... i wouldn't mind paying for a medical if it was actually thorough and also of value to me but just listening to breath sounds seems like a rip off?! To do surveillance for a disease Canada is so concerned about it doesn't vaccinate for it... seems silly

Jurisdictional issues re the SARA lead to a lot of passing the buck as to who's responsibility it is, how much action will really be taken until really no action is taken... sad state of affairs for all listed species in Canada

1. Species is listed, based on knowledge
2. Nothing happens, lest provinces bitch
3. NGO sues, wins in court
4. More lengthy delays until a judge orders the gov't to obey its own law and DO SOMETHING

The IRCC immigration medical for Canada is $225 and you have to go to a physician who's on a special list... all they do is listen to your breath sounds?! And take your height and weight! That's it! They want to ensure you don't have TB, I'm pretty sure my family doctor of 3 years could do that...
