Kind of a weird day to be switching to winter tires. Normal high in Sherbrooke in early October is +12.

Anybody else fed up with desk rejections citing 'the species-specific nature of the findings' by journals that publish about 50% of their articles on single species? And wax lyrically about the importance of long-term studies on marked individuals? Geeeez....

The Australian dollar is currently $0.91 Can. BYD now sells an #EV with >300km of range for under $20K Aus. They were selling the #Seagull in Australia for $12K Aus.
EVs are now WAY CHEAPER than gas cars with operating costs pennies a day.
The only reason Canadians can't get them? 100% tariffs.

After a 1-year absence, a grey fox makes another appearance at the backyard camera trap. Grey foxes now appear to have established a population in southern Québec. Possibly a consequence of climate change? Or land use change? Or, who knows? Great to have them around.
